Most of the cards in The Little Sister Tarot are illustrated with female-form characters or are gender-neutral. Ginny crafted this deck to harness powerful feminine energy; in today's world, honoring the feminine within––intuition, receptivity, acceptance & awareness––can be profoundly helpful.

Ginny Thonson
an artist from the rugged North Coast of California, raised in a family of artists and seekers, creative endeavors are central to my world view. In my work, I think you can see the influence of my extended family ––a wildly creative tribe, which have shaped my artistic pursuits to this day. From the strict compositional guidelines passed to me by my grandfather, a professor of photography and graphic design, to the strong female forms and the enchanting symbolism present in my mother’s abstract paintings, to my grandmother’s works in pastel, and my sister’s scrap books, I inherited a passion for the visual arts.
At their core archetypes are collective stories that are repeated across cultures and ethnicity. Carl Jung defined twelve primary types that represent the range of basic human motivations. These include Ruler, Creator/Artist, Sage, Innocent, Explorer, Rebel, Hero, Wizard, Jester, Every-man, Lover, Caregiver.
