Really gorgeous Marseille style deck

Marseille decks are my favorite. This one features extremely lavish photography to depict characters and pips alike; and the further interesting slant is that all figures are mostly underwater. I had thought this would make it hard to use as an actual reading deck-- but not so. It's great. I also appreciate the tiny card-identificatiion lettering. If you like in-your-face sort of labels, as are so common in so many decks, you would be displeased... but it's perfect for those of us who prefer no, or almost no labels. If you like hauntingly beautiful decks, and Tarot de Marseilles,-- or are open to trying a pip deck-- this one is unique, errie-without-being-limited-by-being-eerie, and fun also.

Review of Tarot of the Drowning World

Kahn and Selesnick's new tarot deck is stunning and hauntingly evokes both artistry of the past -- Giuseppe Arcimboldo's 16th century portraits with fruit, vegetables, and flowers within the court cards and pre-raphaelite beauty within the major arcana -- and a future world apocalypse. The cards themselves reflect high production values with a wonderful textured feel. The guidebook is well worth the additional cost (I only wish someone had proofread the final draft before printing for easily remedied errors and typos).

lovely, dark and deep

This deck is a visual stunner and something of a promised land for this intuitive reader. It's also going to work well as my bridge to a more organized and structured learning experience with the Marseille system. I'm discovering it pairs really nicely with both the Botanica tarot deck and the Seed & Sickle Oracle for amplified reading appreciation and insights. This deck also feels great and handles well.
