German Graphic Designer Welz-Stein has been painting since childhood. According to her, she was almost born with a pencil in her hand. And Catrin always wanted to do something related to arts. She has graduated from Graphic Design in Darmstadt, Germany and then worked for different advertising agencies in Germany, USA and Switzerland. Her work is a mix of vintage photos, old pictures and illustrations digitally assembled to create those beautiful images. Inspired by surrealism, fairy tales, folklore and medieval times, Catrin creates beautiful pieces of surreal art.

Not my cup of tea i guess......

I was hesitant to purchase this one but did it anyways, turns out I didn't like it, and here is why I don't like Tarot Decks that take way too much personal license on their illustrations to the point there is no resemblance whatsoever to the original Raider-waite-smith iconography, some people might find them fun, I find them distracting and distant from the deep meanings of the original illustrations to the point they have no correlation whatsoever and made up their own meanings.
Call me old school, but I don't have the time to learn new meanings to what should be some sort of universal visual language that has gone on for centuries, every time an artist feels like getting "creative" with their deck, and this is the case here, cool illustrations with no connection to the original meanings that ended up looking more like a board game that a divination tool

This deck is a well made quality deck that is visually stunning. The artist clearly put time, effort, and thought into every card. The bonus cards to personalize your deck are an amazing addition. I can’t recommend this deck enough. If you’re in the fence, don’t be.
