Tarot by Jacob Joerger

Besançon 1801, France

$64.00

limited edition of 1500 copies

The Tarot by Jacob Joerger was created by the German cartier in Besançon France in 1801. This fine Tarot is considered a benchmark of Tarots in the "de Besançon" category. Characteristically, of a Besançon Tarot the Papess and the Pope cards are replaced with the Roman gods, Juno and Jupiter. In addition, the face of the Moon appears head on and not in profile. This precious reissue from Tarot Marseilles Heritage is based on a rare, very well preserved, copy held in a private collection.
