Artist Bio

The artwork for The Modern Queer Tarot is created by Tanya Wischerath, a San Francisco–based artist whose work centers on queer history, gender nonconformity, and community memory. Working across painting, printmaking, tattooing, and public art, Wischerath approaches portraiture as an act of preservation—honoring lives and identities that risk being overlooked or forgotten.
