The Companion Booklet

A significant addition to Version 3 is the new 85-page companion booklet, created in response to years of requests for a more comprehensive guide to the deck.

Each of the 80 cards receives its own interpretation, exploring the imagery, symbolic details, and divinatory meanings woven into Diaz’s artwork. The booklet offers a valuable companion for readers seeking to understand the deck’s distinctive visual language, whether approaching Earth Magick for the first time or returning to familiar cards with fresh insight.

An original essay by Daniel Martin Diaz further illuminates the artistic influences, philosophical ideas, and esoteric traditions that shaped Earth Magick.

Together, the cards and booklet create a more complete reading experience, encouraging both intuitive exploration and a deeper appreciation of the deck’s intricate symbolism.

Artwork & Symbolism

The visual world of Earth Magick exists at the intersection of art, science, and mysticism. Daniel Martin Diaz draws inspiration from early scientific illustrations, alchemical manuscripts, religious symbolism, and the natural world, creating compositions that feel at once ancient and unexpectedly contemporary.

Traditional tarot archetypes are reimagined through an elaborate symbolic vocabulary. Human figures mingle with botanical forms, celestial bodies, mysterious creatures, and geometric structures. The familiar becomes strange, and the strange becomes strangely familiar.

For the Color Edition, artist Trina Hines carefully reinterpreted Diaz’s original monochromatic drawings through a palette inspired by 14th-century Renaissance art. Her sensitive use of color lends the imagery an atmosphere of antiquity, recalling hand-colored manuscripts and devotional paintings.

The result is a deck with a remarkable visual identity: intricate, enigmatic, and richly atmospheric, inviting readers to discover meaning through both traditional tarot symbolism and personal intuition.

Reading with Earth Magick

Earth Magick invites a contemplative approach to tarot, one in which imagery and symbolism become pathways to intuition and discovery.

The deck follows the traditional structure of 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana, while introducing two additional Artist/Divination cards. Its unusual visual interpretations encourage readers to look beyond familiar representations and consider the deeper relationships between nature, consciousness, transformation, and the cosmos.

The accompanying booklet provides a foundation for understanding each card, while leaving room for personal interpretation and intuitive exploration.

Whether used for daily readings, meditation, spiritual inquiry, or the study of esoteric symbolism, Earth Magick rewards careful observation and repeated encounters with its mysterious imagery.
