Creator

Yumi Sakugawa is an Ignatz Award–nominated comic artist and writer whose work explores emotional landscapes, healing, and the quiet complexities of being human. Her work has appeared in The Believer, The Rumpus, and Best American Nonrequired Reading, among others. She has exhibited multimedia installations at institutions including the Japanese American National Museum and the Smithsonian Arts & Industries Building. Based in Los Angeles, her work bridges visual art and inner inquiry with a distinctly compassionate voice.
