Visual Perfumery: The Major Arcana as Memoir

This is a tactile, creative process designed to engage both the visual and sensory imagination.

How does a memory smell? How does a secret look?

TarotArts welcomes artist and astrologer Danielle Delceppo for an immersive, hands-on workshop exploring her proprietary methodology of Visual Perfumery—a way of thinking, seeing, and mapping archetypal narratives by treating visual elements like perfume notes.

In this two-hour session, participants explore the Major Arcana as a living archive, returning to key archetypal moments along their own life’s journey. Learning how the structure of perfume—top, heart, and base notes—can be translated into visual depth, you will construct a custom tarot card that captures a chapter of your personal history. To ground the work in the physical world, each participant completes their card by selecting a curated perfume to infuse into the paper, anchoring their intuitive process in an atmospheric scent-memory.

Leave with a physical artifact of your own making and a new, sensory language for the tarot.

Who This Workshop Is For

This workshop is for anyone curious about the meeting place between Tarot, memory, scent, and personal storytelling. No previous experience with Tarot, perfume, or collage is required—just a willingness to explore your own associations and work intuitively with image and fragrance.

Whether you already have a relationship with the Major Arcana or are approaching the cards from an artistic or sensory perspective, the workshop offers a playful, personal way to discover how memory can become image—and how scent can deepen the story.

About the Presenter

Danielle Delceppo is a Visual Perfumer, Divinatory Artist, Tarot Reader and Astrologer who explores the intersection of sensory memory and archetypal narrative. Danielle developed Visual Perfumery—a singular, synesthetic method that translates the architecture of perfume (top, middle, and base notes) into layered visual landscapes. By treating visual elements as aromatic notes, she evokes the expansive, atmospheric narrative of the archetypal Tarot, allowing each card to unfold as a multisensory experience, a visual perfume.

Her self-published deck, Perfume for the Eyes: A Tarot of Dreams, invites readers to use the Tarot as a living memoir, activating intuition through cinematic fragments and collective iconography. Based in Portland, Oregon, Danielle maintains a monthly residency at the Portland Soho House and Frances May, where she facilitates immersive events and private sessions that bridge the gap between individual practice and collective experience.

In 2020, she founded the creative studio Auburn Intuitive LLC to bridge this lifelong engagement in the mantic arts with her technical acuity in the visual spectrum—establishing a vibrational fluency in color and design across spatial installations, publishing, and immersive experiences.
