BOTANICAL NAME: Commiphora myrrha ORIGIN: North Africa PLANT PART: Resin EXTRACTION METHOD: Steam Distilled PERFUMERY NOTE: Base Myrrh Essential Oil has been used as a sacred oil and resin since ancient times. It awakens spirituality, aids in meditation and is ideal for cleansing rituals before healing. It supports peace, trust and courage, helping to encourage the release of stagnant pain and resentment and can promote forgiveness and vision for a new path. Myrrh has been used as an ingredient in incense and perfumes in Ancient Egypt. Myrrh can possibly be toxic in high concentrations, and should not be used during pregnancy. Diluting with a carrier oil for skin application is recommended. Unless you are working directly with a highly qualified practitioner who has been specifically trained in essential oil pharmacology, it is not advisable to take internally.
