Untold Tarot presents historic styles of reading little known in the modern era. It teaches traditional ways of reading used for pre-twentieth-century decks, drawing upon older cartomantic arts such as blending and pairing cards, reading lines, and following "line of sight" to piece together untold stories according to the direction in which the characters are facing. The book also includes a selection of card spreads drawn from traditional French and Italian sources, plus methods of reading cards based on the author's own extensive research.
CBD Tarot de Marseille
Based on the influential Nicholas Conver 1760 deck, the CBD Tarot de Marseille represents a unprecedented restoration project by Yoav Ben-Dov that spanned over 3-1/2 years. The Original Woodblock lines were created in a slow organic process to obtain a non-uniform texture maintaining the original charm of the wood prints. The coloring scheme references one of the earliest available Conver edition kept at the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris. Yoav Ben-Dov has kept many of the original decks anomalies intact considering these irregularities an element of chaos consciously introduced to give the cards a dynamic and dream-like atmosphere. This vibrant 79-card deck includes an extra blank logo card to be used as a carte blanche, "for everything that is open and possible”. Also included is a 56-page booklet with suggestions for reading the cards, with both upright and inverse meanings.
This deck is an excellent deck for those ready to start their Marseille Journey.
CBD Tarot de Marseille was voted by 13,000 Tarot Association Facebook subscribers as one of Top 50 Essential Tarot Decks, the only one in the “Marseilles decks” category.
