LIZ HUSTON , a native of Los Angeles, California, may live in Venice, California, a place known for interesting characters, but it's in Huston's imagination where the truly unique characters exist. Entirely self taught, Huston's work has evolved over two decades from a traditional film background into digital assemblage, photomontage, and currently into mixed media through combining acrylics, oil and watercolors with her digital works. In her complex imagery, Huston creates an esoteric narrative that hints at a logic far beyond the average and mundane.

With an inner quest to know the unknowable, Liz Huston has been as committed to esoteric studies as she has to art for her entire adult life. What began as a personal search to understand the subtleties of personality and their link to the occult eventually became a tool with which to help others as well.

Curious by nature with an insatiable appetite for connection with the unseen, Huston began her path in Paganism, learning ceremony with renowned Priestesses and teachers. Over the years, she also studied Buddhism, Hinduism and Tantrism with Eastern practitioners. Her greatest teachers, though, have been the lineage of the Q'ero Pacos (Shamans) of the high Andes in Peru.

Huston is also a full time artist, owning and operating a gallery, dubbed her 'studio shoppe' in Downtown Los Angeles. Huston's mixed media art is whimsical, surreal and dreamy, and her esoteric path informs this art in every way.

In her symbolic visual works she bridges the worlds; creating not just art, but medicine for the human spirit.
